Humans succumbing to emotional contagions are not a pretty sight, nor an admirable one. The spectacle resembles the sight of sheep being herded by a wolf-in-drag, i.e., a dog, or a school of fish darting here and there just to keep up with the crowd. Entities that a capable of conceptual thinking should never engage in such brain stem follies. However, a lot of otherwise intelligent and educated human beings are succumbing to the new Mesmerism of "global warming."
Their brains, they have turned off, so that they can be directed solely by their limbic brains and amygdalae to act as a truly thoughtless, emotionally dominated herd.
Here is one of the latest public spectacles forthcoming this weekend:
Here Comes 'Climate Crisis Action Day'

(CNSNews.com) - Environmental activists and liberal politicians will join forces in Washington, D.C., on March 20 for the first "Climate Crisis Action Day," which is billed as a "carbon-neutral global warming event." Speakers at the West Front of the U.S. Capitol will include Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), Rep. Henry Waxman (D-Calif.) and others concerned about climate change. Visuals will include a giant inflatable earth on fire, hybrid cars, and thousands of advocates in crimson T-shirts," the news release said.
Environmental groups that are sponsoring the event expect thousands of Americans to come to the Capitol to meet with their senators and representatives -- and "urge them to support swift, steep reductions in global warming pollution and protect the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge."
Questions (and answers) to be addressed at the event include:
- Why must we act now to fight global warming?
Activists' answer: "Science tells us that we can prevent the worst effects if we cut emissions enough to keep temperatures from rising more than 2.4 degrees Fahrenheit above today's levels." (Skeptics say the science has been hyped beyond what the facts support.) ;
- What is at stake?
Answer: "The Arctic and other pristine public lands face thawing, drought, forest fires and other warming effects. Sea level rise could create millions of 'eco refugees' as people flee coasts." (Scaremongering, some Americans insist.) ;
- What can we do?
Answer: "Support investments in efficiency and renewable energy, reduce global warming pollution, and protect the Arctic wilderness." (Reducing greenhouse gas emissions will "shut down the machine we call America," says Sen. James Inhofe, a leading critic of the argument that human activity is causing climate change.)
Sponsors of Climate Crisis Action Day include: Alaska Wilderness League, Earthjustice, Harris Lithographics Incorporated, the International Fund for Animal Welfare, National Audubon Society, NRDC Action Fund, SaveOurEnvironment.org, Sierra Club, Washington City Paper, The Wilderness Society and 94.7FM The Globe.
Many other groups are listed as "supporters."

I am reading an excellent book right now called The Politically Incorrect Guide to Global Warming. Unlike these so-called "enviromentalists," this book is a gentle read, without a single trace of hysteria, and is devoted to the facts of the situation and the motivations of the so-called "greens."
Probably everyone now has heard the metaphor "watermelon" for these "greenies." The metaphor refers to being "green on the outside," i.e., the disguise, but "red on the inside," i.e., modern day communists on the inside. Note the "crimson shirts." Trying to make the susceptible believe that theirs are beneficent motivations, the greens want in fact to destroy all of modern civilization. In particular, they want to destroy all vestiges of capitalism.
They have tried many things, but none has worked. They think that enviro-hysteria just may succeed. Like some tent evangelist working a con on the susceptible audience, they sell what they think will convince those who don't think a lot. Then, they hype it with a sense of urgency. It comes out like Chicken Little and "the sky is falling." Getting the crowd worked up might get it to become a lynch mob, at least they are hoping so. Then the crowd will demand action, give the envirocommunists their victory, and leave all of us to suffer from all the action done without sufficient thought.
The "facts" are a combination of fictions (re: lies), unproved assertions, and flimsy evidence which is highly controversial because it is so flimsy. Nevertheless, if you can believe it, it all works.
As for me, I can accept that the globe might be warming, although that lacks full scientific substantiation. It is always either warming or cooling, and there is not a damned thing you or I can do about it. Either way, homo sapiens is not the cause, nor is he the cure, any more than you or I can change the direction of a hurricane by sneezing at it. There is nothing I can do about climate change, so I will spend zero time being concerned about it. My concern will focus on the envirocommunists and their lock-step followers.
Not one of the assertions published in the foregoing article is true. NOT ONE!
