Back On

This may be my last message on behalf of Cubed.  She is convalescing well, and she will be doing her own blogs, notes, comment responses, and emails soon.  Right now, her ambition exceeds her stamina.  She awakens with fire in the belly, does too much, and Mother Nature makes her take a long nap.  Mother Nature is simply fantastic and has the smarts to make us stop when we won't do it for ourselves.  She could not be more grateful and thankful for all the kind thoughts and well wishes extended her.  She will be back on line just as soon as Mother Nature lets her.

Three Steps Forward + Two Steps Backward

Cubed was readmitted to the hospital over the weekend with some potentially serious sequelae related to the gallbladder surgery.  The latter is healing nicely, but two other problems decided to get in on the action.  Her spirits are good, and she is responding well to treatment.  We hope that she will be able to come back home later this week.  Thank you to all who have shared their well-wishes and thoughts through comments, emails, and phone calls--these have been appreciated far more than we can possibly convey.  Cubed is just chomping at the bit to get back on-line, and, barring the unforseen, she will do just that a little later this month.

Cubed Update

Cubed has been discharged from the hospital and is at home.  In my view, she is doing very well, considering...  Anyone who has had the old-fashioned "open" gallbladder procedure recalls that convalescence is much slower than for the endoscopic procedure, so Cubed will be using August to get back up to speed.  She hopes to be blogging again soon, but "soon" has no date as yet.  Many well-wishers have responded to her unexpected summer turn of events on and off line, and these have been greatly appreciated.  //George Mason for Cubed

A Message from Cubed

{Cubed has asked me to post the following message for her/GMason}

Thank you for your patience.  Things have turned out to be more complicated that we thought.  Instead of a simple, stone-filled gallbladder that could be removed laparascopically, the gallbladder turned out to be gangrenous and turned into a major procedure, with a stint in the ICU.

I'll keep you updated; there are at least a couple of more history segments before moving on.
