The enormity of the problems brought on by mass immigration is not lost on the common people that wallow in the mire created by governments and business elites.
Here is Richard Little John at the Daily Mail The car bomb you are calling may be switched off - please try later!. The quote by Melanie Phillips applies to both sides of the pond:
It's best not to dwell on the enormity of what has led us here. In yesterday's Mail, Melanie Phillips summarised superbly not just the deranged evil of those who seek to destroy us, but also the frightening criminal negligence, stubborn stupidity and callous indifference of those charged with protecting us. [My emphasis]
Don't blame the police or the intelligence service, this is a mess made by politicians. I felt like retching when Gordon Brown sauntered on camera to announce that the safety of the British people was paramount.
Change the name Gordon Brown to just about any American politician for the same effect. However, some are more guilty than others: Edward Kennedy (D-MA) comes to mind described at The Borjas Blog:
Regarding the 1965 bill that sparked the resurgence of large-scale immigration, Senator Kennedy predicted: "The bill will not flood our cities with immigrants. It will not upset the ethnic mix of our society. It will not relax the standards of admission."
Regarding the 1986 Immigration and Reform Control Act (the first amnesty of illegal immigrants), Senator Kennedy predicted: "This amnesty will give citizenship to only 1.1 to 1.3 million illegal aliens. We will secure the borders henceforth. We will never again bring forward another amnesty bill like this." The 1986 legislation, by the way, ended up granting amnesty to around 3 million illegal immigrants.
In the private sector, this kind of track record would probably make Senator Kennedy an inviting target for all kinds of malpractice lawsuits.
Immigration lawyers and others are appearing on talk shows to condemn the opponents of the bill and to demand an immediate freeze on ICE raids and deportations as unjust. They should direct their venom at the leadership that caused this problem in the first place by looking the other way for decades before pretending to take action.
A massive concentration of families and children is scheduled for July 17 in Washington D.C. to "confront the leaders of both parties and the President." Their intention is also to "bring[ing] this economy to a halt.
Are these the kinds of immigrants that we need or want ... on either side of the pond? They are selling out.
Unfortunately they all seemincompentent.
