Russia Confronts NATO and the U.S.

Last Friday, another act of war took place in the skies over the Caucasus, when a Russian aircraft violated the Republic of Georgia's airspace and was fired on by the country's air defense forces. Prior to this latest incident, Russia violated Georgian airspace no fewer than three times within as many weeks, including one instance of a deliberate missile attack against a Georgian-NATO radar site.

We can no longer whitewash the obvious: Russia is now conducting a low-intensity conflict in the Caucasus in its bid to turn back NATO expansion and to maintain connections to terror-supporting states.

Rather than become full partners with the Coalition in the War on Terror, Putin's decrepit and corrupt regime is dedicated to maintaining profitable Cold War financial arrangements, while desperately seeking to reestablish some semblance of the old Soviet order by vigorously opposing the US missile defense shield. Russian generals who bully our new European partners over hosting a key Eastern European radar site get the most attention. Less obvious, and completely overlooked by the drive-by media, is Putin's focus on Georgia, since it holds the Eurasian geo-political ace-in-the-hole.

Cui Bono?

"Cui bono?" To whose advantage is the mass migration of Muslim immigrants into Europe and the Mexican immigrants into the United States? Who benefits from from replacing orginal populations accustomed to freedom with those accustomed to fascism?

If the benefit doesn't go to the original inhabitants, then to whom... and better still, why?

Will Secret Talks at Montebello Affect American Sovereignty?

Just like the EU social, business, and political elites who formed that morass of bureacracy over the objections of most Europeans, North American elites are forging ahead in beginning stages of forming a similar regional bureaucracy. This time the heads of state of the United States, Canada and Mexico are meeting in a summit at Montebello, Canada, and this meeting, as with all the other meetings of high and low officialdom, are being held in secret "to prevent the ministers to be bothered by the public."

They call it the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America

The Growing Criminal/Terrorism Nexus - Why We Must Change Our Thinking

One of the truly alarming global developments, particularly since the 9/11 attacks, is the growing nexus between organized, transnational criminal groups and terrorist networks.

In a thought-provoking Outlook piece in the Washington Post, Misha Glenny correctly notes the growing role of the poppy trade in Afghanistan in financing the Taliban, as well as attempts at eradication driving recruits to the armed insurgency.

The same holds true in Colombia and elsewhere, where the vast profits reaped by drug traffickers who control transnational shipping networks are enhanced by cutting security deals with terrorist organizations.

Speaking of Phobias

A phobia is defined as ... an exaggerated usually inexplicable and illogical fear of a p articular object, class of objects, or situation."

Thomas Lifson at American Thinker links to Dr. Sanity's explanation of Westophobia that most of the Muslim world exhibits against the West, America, and Israel which Patrick Poole called "Kaffir-phobia, or fear of non-Muslims.

Can anyone show where is the West there is rioting against Muslims, the wholesale destruction of Muslim businesses, homes, mosques? Are Muslims refused service in stores, restaurants, hospitals, govdernment agencies? How then, is the West a "cauldron of simmering hatred of Muslims"?

On the contrary, especially in the United States, Muslims are given every consideration, and Islamification is proceeding at a rapid pace in Europe. When Muslims claim Islamophiba they mean criticism, cartoons portraying Mohammed, novels and other works of literature. But in the Muslims world, "Kaffir-phobia" is demonstrated through ethnic cleansing of non-Muslims, rioting, violence, death and destruction.

Who, then, shows the greater phobia?
